About the workshop:
Clay workshop hosted by Charlie of Murtle and Thyme - no experience necessary.
Please note this is a hand building class.
Each participant must be available on the 13th April AND 18th May.
Each attendee will be making their choice of stoneware piece/s. (The workshop is 3 hours for making and then 3 hours for glazing)
There is the means to make functional pottery, sculptural, decorative or wearable items.
The workshop is inclusive of all materials and firing.
Collection will be from the Salle Moor Farm no later than 6 weeks after the second course day and I will let everyone know once pieces are out of the kiln.
I will bring a selection of tools but please bring anything specific you will need (rolling pin etc) books, photographs or drawings along for inspiration.
If you would like to message me with ideas before you book you are welcome to.
About me:
Out of college I went onto study Fine Art at Cardiff UWIC and graduated with a Second Class Honors Degree, specialising in printmaking. Since the pandemic I have become a mother three times over and it’s been a reason I have wanted to work for myself and for my children to watch their Mama doing what she loves as a job.
The beauty of Earth is the inspiration of my work, each of my pieces being one of a kind just like so many things in nature. I hand draw onto pottery using the sgraffito technique and sell at craft fairs. I feel my work is a gateway - it’s a realising or a deepening need to reconnect and allow ourselves to feel our way back into understanding ourselves as creative beings.
